I did have a rather hopeful conversation last week with a recruiter for the Mouse who gave me some inside skinny on a role we both agreed I would be well suited for. Once the role posts, I'll apply.

No. It posted the day we spoke BUT they had to take it down to fix some things. She had a meeting with the hiring manager the day after we spoke and said she'd bring me up. She also said she'd shoot me an email when it goes up and of course I've been checking the career site compulsively.

Yeah, I know how that goes (re: compulsive checking). Still, that all sounds positive. Hopefully you'll hear something in the next few days.

Well, I got through a lot of essays yesterday. Need to talk to three students who submitted stuff that's pretty clearly written by AI. (rolls eyes) Need to start grading the research papers soon, so it's going to be a hard week. Might not be on a lot until Friday night. Senior grades due on the 14th.

Overall, though, pretty okay.

Apparently, Adobe's new ToS include a clause that they can harvest anything you make on their platforms for AI purposes.

Yeah, I saw that. It's a hot mess out there.

Zoom is also (reportedly) going to be harvesting transcripts of anything users say on the platform.... for AI purposes.

Before I left, my boss gave word that all further meetings would be held on Teams, and that the Mouse is moving away from Zoom due to this.
