All babies are different; if he doesn't like that order, try it the other way. If he's EATING, you're good. I can say Thing1 was a BIG eater and was VERY interested in solids around 3 months (starting with rice cereal of course) and progressed in good time to purees and such.

We fed Thing1 solids first, and then capped him off with nursing before bed.

See, my ped insisted we wait until 6 mos before offering any solids.

I lasted until just after 5
