I mean, I heard folks were mostly safe, but still, the buildings there aren't built for that stuff!

It was very weird! At first, I thought it was a big cart of heavy stuff being rolled down the hall, because it was noise in addition to shaking...but then the shaking just kept going.

I looked at the gov site, and it turns out there was another earthquake in California, in almost exactly the same latitude, just a few minutes later. My theory: The continent is going to get folded in half.

At this point? Could be worse ideas.....

Which way? Folded like coasts dipping into the water and the middle goes up, or folded like the edges go up and smash together?

So the theatre program and Thing1&2's schools has a tradition of setting up little gift bags on a table in the lobby and the kids decorate them with personal designs and the audience and other Cast can use the provided index cards and write notes and leave them in the bags.
Well, I didn't know about that. So we went last night and I found out about it. Thing2's bag was kinda sad; empty for one, and just a thing scribble of pencil drawing on the gray of the paper, which was hard to see.
I felt like #momfail.

So I stole the bag.

Oh wow

Oof. I get it, though.

And last night I stayed up and created some 4x6 index cards with a design like the one he created but a bit brighter, more visible. I got notes on cards from all three of us here and made a 4x6 card with a wonderful poem about Theatre on it. And I ordered a textbook on stagecraft and made a frontplace card for it that commemorates the show and IDs it as his.

And then I snuck it all back onto the table when I dropped him off.

That's some next-level Santa stuff.

So at least he'll have that by/before closing.
