Oy. Busy day. Finally found a vet who deals in gerbils. The visit took 2 and a half hours

Yeah, poor little guy has a kidney problem and they hope they can help with it. We got meds

Long camping weekend was...eventful. First night, we realized that our 20-year-old nylon tent wasn't so much water resistant anymore.

At about 5 am, we both admitted we weren't sleeping due to the water dripping on us. Fortunately, it was a pagan event, and Aphrodite's Temple a) had mattresses and b) was underutilized at that hour.

Also fortunately: I knew where the closest sporting goods store was, so brand new tent was easily acquired.

And this year we remembered to bring (almost) enough blankets to deal with the nights that got down to 40 degrees.

One funny thing? She had a devil of a time finding a place that did small animal care. She called one place, and the lady who answered it, said "oh yes, we handle gerbils". My friend shows up to a very confused Vet. They do NOT handle Gerbiles, they assistant who answered the phone thought 'Gerbil' was just a dog breed she hadn't heard of

YUP. The vet made the poor girl who made the mistake come out and apologize for the slip.
