Issue 1 is on the 8th, and it is being pushed by corrupt AF Sec of State Frank LaRose

Issue 1 is a move to make it functionally impossible for citizen-initiated amendments to get on the ballot, let alone pass

Ohio has a heinously gerrymandered General Assembly, where the 55% republican majority holds 85% of the seats

We also have the Gov's son as the chief justice of the state supreme court

After Dobbs, Gov DeWine's "Heartbeat" bill went into effect - a 6 week ban on abortions.

Well, there is now a citizen-initiated reproductive rights petition for November (it just passed the signature threshold to get on the ballot)

So the Ohio GOP came up with Issue 1 to rush into an August election. Issue 1, amongst other terrible things, raises the ballot initative threshold from 50%+1 to pass to 60%

Estimated support for the repro rights amendment is ~58%

So this is a naked move (Issue 1) to cut off the repro rights thing at the knees. It is particularly egregious because in 2021 the Ohio GOP fucking outlawed August elections because they are too expensive and have low turnout

The GOP is making all kinds of lies about what is covered by issue one, to motivate forced-birth single-issue voters to the polls

Also lies about trans kids, to get out the transphobe vote
