@rae - I have deleted an MS Word doc and need it back. It is not in the recycle bin. Are you good with such things?

It is not listed in the 'restore previous versions' option (right click on file for menu).

I don't/can't have the system restore enabled.

I can see shortcuts (which don't work) and I can't find a setting that -wouldn't- allow the file to go to the recycle bin.

Do you see 'AppData' in there? You might not.

Not there.

if you don't, just type C:\Users\(name)\AppData and it should open the hidden folder.

I do not have backup copies on; it's a network thing, I think.

You can turn it on locally

It saves in that local folder, Word backup files carry the ".wbk" extension. If you turn it on, you have another level of security

I believe there are also online Sharepoint/Onedrive recycle bins, if it WAS saved on the OneDrive network, your admin may find it there
