After spring break, it's hard to get my sleep cycle back on schedule.

Tomorrow, all my classes (and several other classes) will be seeing a professional production of Romeo and Juliet in our school auditorium. This is either going to be wonderful...or a nightmare.

Oh, I think it's most likely to be splendid!

However, not a single one of my students (Juniors or Seniors) has read R&J. Some missed Shakespeare entirely due to COVID. So they're going into this cold. I hope they'll give it a decent chance.

When we do Shrew, we do cultural, feminist, and Marxist analysis. It works nicely as an intro to schools of criticism.

If the course is critical analysis (IMHO) there's an excellent reason to use WS; analyse the hell out of that, pick 'em apart and eat it for lunch. Maybe watch the show first, for funnsies, to get the vibe.
