Morning. I was told by mom last night we were going to see the old house nearby this morning but I'm not sure when or even if anymore so as usual all is in flux

Okay. Went along. Folks of course drove another 20 minutes to show me around. I gave them their gifts. So that's part of mission done.

Bit of a relief?

it is reassuring

My folks are good people, but after a bit they try to 'help me' by telling me what to do with my life even at this age.

And it can get stressful holding back telling them to let me be me and back off.

Yeah. As a parent I can tell you it's a hard habit to break. I mean... you -have to- help your kids at some stages. Legally, if not morally, ethically, and out of love. But then they get older and can do on their own but sometimes they are CLEARLY not making good choices so that habit kicks back in.

("CLEARLY" can be defined as "Not making the choices I would/would suggest.")

More that yes. Also, and not something i can get into detail on- but they've really screwed up a few times and I mean in the last decade so it rings especially hollow

And when every interaction more than a day leads to it, it makes me shy about visiting
