How're we doing?

DH wanted to learn to make biscuits and gravy. Previously, it's been my thing but... I support his growth.
HE NAILED IT.

DAMN.

Thing1 is off at the Cracker Christmas (in Christmas) with his Cubs. The rest of us are chillin.

I was able to get reservations at a hard-to-get place on the 🐭 property towards the end of January for lunch. We're doing dessert first, but the Things don't know that.

THEN they can have something else if they want.

That's the point. And that we're going to get there and order and it arrives without telling the Things.... 😁

I tend to be a purist with ice cream

Banana Splits are pushing it - they would be better sans pineapple, it fights against the other flavors.

FWIW, I dislike most blizzards, too. Too much stuff.

But that IS an amazing sundae, and I feel like maybe I came across as negative?

Because for a teenage boy?

I have a 'thing' about banana splits.
When my da was first working, he was a soda jerk. Like... literally he pulled the soda taps to 'jerk' them to carbonate. And he did ice cream stuff. He taught me about lemon, cherry, chocolate and vanilla cola before it was something you could buy. And he taught me about banana splits.

Peanut butter on the bananas. THEN the holy trio of ice creams. Never top an ice cream with like toppings; no strawberries on strawberry ice cream, kind of thing. And.... enjoy.

I do, therefore, judge all banana splits in relation to the original Valley Dairy ones

Which is fair.

But for me? I -literally- have spent YEARS in thrift stores looking for a match to our family banana split glass boats.
