But yes, some were tossed. I'd get my bundle delivered, fold them, and pack my little "daily courier" satchel

I often took one of my mice on my route - Pip, in particular, who was a wee agouti girl, and very well behaved. I made a harness from the cotton twine the papers came in, and she could ride on my shoulder or in my pocket.

I was a weird kid.

Now I have a picture of Magilita with a 'paper launcher' device doing her rounds at Bergen "CLEAR" BOOM .. Paper splats against door. Scares a cat.. .breaks a window.

I had pet mice, too!

Never had them go round with me outside. That's amazing.

Pip & Squeak were the first pair - Mom got them from one of her students

Squeak was a boy.

So yes, there were subsequent mice.

My parents made very certain that they got two male mice from the pet store.

Except they didn't.

50 mice later....

Fun fact: female mice are fertile ~15 minutes after giving birth.

Squeak went out to a home with one of his sons, but it was toooooo late.

I kept one girl from each of Pip's litters.

Husband is in escape-velocity mode for a multi-day trip, so I'm going to be interrupted with last-minute packing-&-goodbye stuff.

He's going to a pagan event up in Vermont. He'll be gone until Sunday, and I'll be off at Pennsic by the time he returns.
