Pardon if not really here. Having a fight with T-mobile on the phone

OH I have a phone. I think it's only purpose now is to let robo callers harrass me about my fictional car's warranty

We have a T-mobile account that has 3 lines included. There was no cheaper plan for just 2 lines, which is what we needed. There are only 2 of us. So, we accept the plan for $120/mo with 3 lines.

Then we decide, if we're granted a 3rd free line, we should use it, so we contact T-mobile to add a friend's number on as that free line.

Cue a week of confusion, issues, problems, phone not working, etc. as T-mobile tries to figure out moving that number from Sprint over to T-mobile. They sent new SIM cards, the cards didn't work, we had to go to the T-mobile store REPEATEDLY, then FINALLY the line is on our account and working.

We realize today that what they DID was add a new line to our account, a 4th line. For $20/month extra. So now we have Me, Gyrf, UNUSED FREE LINE, and Friend for $20 extra... for the past 5 months as well

They are telling me that because we added Friend as an extra line, it will have a fee. But we can use UNUSUED LINE for free!

But that line has a random number.

We never WANTED to add a 4th line...

T-mobile fucked up

and they're telling me they can't fix it?

But, you can clearly see on the bill:

Paid Line 4

And 'Free line' is even displaying the exact same phone details as 'Paid line' so when they issues one of those sim cards they must have activated it

Can you tell them to swap lines 3 and four, then cancel the new four? SOmehow I doubt it but... I got nothing else coming to mind

Im on hold now for a supervisor that the goon told me will tell me the same thing

I am tempted to barge into a T-Mobile office, but that's who fucked it up the first time, AND since the owner on the account is Gyrf, he'd have to go with me

Gyrf just wants to suck it up and pay the $20

and I feel shitty because that sounded racist, but the fact is that they outsource their support to undertrained and inept offshore call centers

and that is frustrating too

And I confess, when I hear an Indian accent on the phone when someone calls ME, I'm 90% sure it's a scam call.

He said he sees the issue (it stemmed from the new line coming from another Carrier) and he can get it resolved, get the bill back down, and put in a request for refund of the past 5 months of fees

I guess we'll wait and see and hope that someone doesn't F up and deactivate the wrong number

Still, a reasonable knowledgeable person, you hear about them, but you never think one will happen to you
