It was..... ground beef with a beef-stock roux, and frozen mix veg, with cheddar cheese and shoestring hash browns on top.

It SOUNDS like it should be better than just 'ok' but... there was -something- just.... meh. DH and I agreed, Thing2 ate his serving and was done, Thing1 ate two servings and will finish the rest.

It is reasonable to pay for convivence. Also, if you make a full serving size of rice, but only eat part, and the rest goes bad, you haven't -actually- saved anything.
