There's a running gag about how Morn will "talk your ear off" and the like

He's a fixture in the bar, and named after Norm from Cheers

but understand, it vies with TNG for being my favorite TV show of all time

and my god, will you love Garak (Bisexual space lizard tinker tailor spy!)

As in all Trek, 1st season is a bt uneven, but still has some solid episodes (it is light years above TNG season 1)

there's some continuity, but you don't really need it

DS9 is unique among Trek in that the concept of the show is nailed to a single location. They don't move around exploring in a ship; they are pinned to a space station.

So they need, yes, continuity. And they have to get REAL inventive.

DS9 is serialized, and that was relatively unusual for TV in the 90s to have a story like that, esp in sci fi
