Because of course it makes it hard. I am.. ngl, fairly certain I am undiagnosed ADHD for a multitude of reasons and it explains a lot of struggles that I have...

Mom also thinks I might be somewhere on the spectrum, which, again, makes a lot of sense

but getting an adult DX is expensive & not very helpful

instead, I was just "gifted" and "weird" as a kid

Yeah. I get rather passionate about failure. They NEED to fail, they NEED to be able to pick themselves back up. They NEED to be able to reassess and try again.

And honestly, if your kid has ADHD and a real diagnosis for it (not just my-kid-is-misbehaving-it-must-be-ADHD), then that kid has to get accommodations including extended time.

So if they're getting their mandated accommodations, and still miss deadlines, then it's not about the ADHD.

And even with a real DX, the world won't accommodate.
