Valencia got a new collar today. Slight drama ensued.

She went without one for a bit while I transferred the rabies tag, then made sure it was the same size as the old one, and then put it on her.

There was some sniffing before that was welcomed, then some licking and fussing about it once it had.

She seems fine. Updates as needed to follow.

Valencia is REMARKABLY good natured and compliant about such things. Never had a cat so much like that.

The cat we most-recently had to put to sleep wore a non-safety collar. He's the only cat I've ever known who didn't mind his collar at all. In fact, he seemed to kind of like it. None of the others are wearing collars at this time -- and honestly, I don't know if we could put collars on the ferals.

Prolly a struggle, there.

Valencia came home with a collar from the same store we got her in (adoption site). In fact, there's a section of her cat tree that is the collar station; all outgrown/old collars go there for both girls.

Yep! Valencia is chipped and today's new collar is reflective but then again, we have coyotes and gators so.....
