One is a SFH at the top of our budget, looks really nice but also is further west than we wanted to go

The other is a MFH (4 flat) that was converted into a SFH, but we want to see if it could be converted back (or honestly just put in a door) so we could split it with a friend as a 2-flat.

This one is a bit smaller and not as fancy, But Has a great location and MUCH cheaper split between 2.

Ok, that was not a pleasant dining experience, and all the more disappointing because I had such hopes....

The grey house on Argyle is lovely but so far west. I wouldn’t be able to ride my bike places anymore, would have to drive

One downside of the 2 flat is almost none of them have balconies for the top unit. That means going up and down stairs to grill, instead of right outside the back door from the kitchen. We grill like 5 nights a week in the summer

It might be that neither of these are right, but at least we can look

2 flat is cute, I like those boxed window areas

if you can't bike, is there a line near it? Trains are fun!

So we would have 2 duplexes instead. And either keep a bonus kitchen in the basement or remove it, tbd

and chicago has decent public transit

parking isn't bad :) we’re not downtown

But I'm farther north in a better ( IMO) area

We have more immigrants, ethnic food, bodegas, less trendy bars and brunch

But we still have those things, just like 4 instead of 30

The market is just starting to pick back up for spring so we t have a lot more to look at soon
