Last time I visited my family, my parents hinted dad wanted to drive cross country with me, which is sweet, but they mentioned the great plains. I am sure some of those states are nice but I don't much LIKE driving or even riding for hours. AND... as a rule, the flatter the turf, the more prone i am to being bored fast. Don't tell the DeBukes, but flat farm land can be a bore 😉

DH and I drove across the country. NJ to CA.

I was 4 months pregnant. It took 2 weeks.

We drove from TN to Duluth MN once, then back. Michigan's upper pensula was ugly as F at that time

Still better than the trip through Texas

texas: drive for three days, still in TX!

Although, honestly, NM and Albuquerque in specific is some of the prettiest drive of that part of the country.

Oh we went THROUGH Texas.... entering NE part to Dallas /Ft Worth (Terrible traffic) then all the way SW to El Paso

I hear NM is pretty but to be honest, the Southwest as a rule doesn't appeal. I need my green

I lived in North Las Vegas. Ugly terrain for the most part. There were exceptions, but it felt like a Post Apocc waste land with scabby mountains and brown

I miss my mountains

PA was weird for me. Rather green all around which I liked, but this HUGE Flat section, then boom hills and Mountains (preferred the latter)

I'm old now. I prefer valleys or foothills... Mountains close enough to see and visit, but less incline for walking 😉
