Several years ago, city closed the elementary school by my mom's house

they sold the property (zoned R1 residential) to an investor for WAY under market value - like, 15k for the school lot & the basketball court across the street

Investor did demo the school, though too some big shortcuts in reclaiming the land (didn't properly handles the mold or asbestos, buried rubble so lot is now a swamp)

Investor is going to the city to get lot rezoned COMMERCIAL to put in storage units

in the middle of a very very very residential neighborhood

and right the fuck next door to my mom

So - on a hometown FB group, there was a post saying how this was comign up

Investor, coincidentally, has a relative on the zoning board (Small towns!)

People are upset. They do not want storage units in their residential neighborhood.

Daughter of Investor shows up and is like "You don't understand! If you wanted something different you should have bought the property! Your attitude is so awful! You're why nothing nice ever happens in town!"

Not everyone can afford property even on the cheap.

So... jerwad got the property on the cheap, but bunggled it so it became somehin of a swamp. Having screwed this up beforre, he now wants folks to "trust him" by turning into a storage area no one wants and might indeed increase traffic throuh the streets where folks kids play or folks jog. His daughter, literally loyal to a fault and clueless, blames everyone BUT her dad and feels the city OWES her father a policy/Zoning change because.. it would help HIM
