That looks like a river rock

when I was a kid, I would steal pretty river rocks from neighbor's yards, especially ones that looks pretty in the rain

I had a little plastic bucket of them. I was a strange child.

Not at all! I think all kids (or many) go throgh a rock collecting stage

But clearly, Sparrow thinks Grete & Caitir are both semi-precious stones!

I can't tell you the number of unremarkable rocks I collected in my youth. 🙂

One summer I had a battle with my father because he REFUSED to bring buckets and buckets of rocks home from Nova Scotia.

I do think that Grete has a point that Catir is more important to Sparrow. In ways that she'll just need to learn to accept.

Sparrow cares for Grete as part of her Barony. But she cares for Catir as she would part of herself. If She left to go to another hold, Catir would go with her. They're linked, they're family.

That doesn't mean she doesn't care for Grete too, but... she may just have to accept that it's different.
