Ovcharkas are shorter but also twice as heavy! Very similar temperament- Pyrenees are more gentle, better family dog. Ovcharkas more stubborn and aggressive as a breed on the whole- and FLUFFIER, more grooming.
Interestingly enough, a male Pyr and female Ovcharka are around the same weight though the Pyr is taller.
