I'm okay, but under-motivated today. We've also got a local rash of petty theft -- somebody stealing planters off of people's porches -- which is annoying.

It turns out someone MAY be using my Social Security number

Hmmm. I would recommend contacting the IRS directly, NOT using the contact info in the letter, and verify. It's very likely a scam.

Yeah, well that's just it. I checked Social security administration ala wikpedia and ..the URL was what was on the letter

But I'm a bit jumpy yes. I will ask a more savvy friend to look it over.

I'm just not sure why one agency is sending out a letter that needs to be investigated in another agency. Weird.

But the letter refered me to the Social Administration to ensure their records are correct

Anyway I'll resolve it one way or another but ... well, FORCED interaction with government agencies or risk of loss of identity does have me jangled

Though, and forgive the dark humor, part of me wonders if whoever might be using it for a job is a hard worker and might be building up my eventual retirement fund 😉

But i hate surprises, not a fan of government agencies or big corporations, and not crazy about my privacy violated. So this little letter was a zinger on all three anxiety buttons

Well...in other news...

I have a camping trip this weekend with some of the folks from my Pennsic camp. The site is nearby, but it's WEIRD packing for ACTUAL camping. Like, no, there won't be a cafe and restaurants and shops on site...this ain't Pennsic!
