Hm. I can see that being a big reason why some were eager to accept the sidhe back. If their return meant improved connection to prior lives....?

well, I have issues with the sluagh book too - but names & words & stories all kind of work with eshu

I take the kithbooks with a big shaker of salt. And some of the too far out stuff, well, perhaps it's somthing that certain sects of the kith believe (like the sluagh last life thing). Doesn't necessarily make it TRUE

I think it's safe to say Sidhe did nnot have a monopoly on naming, but poweful sorcerers of ALL kinds (Not everyone could flicker flash either) were rare before the sidhe returned. However, either by treachery, or coaxing, tthe sidhe rapidly did what htey could to either get a monopoly later... or make it APPEAR that way

Yeah, the Eshu book annoyed me because it wennt from "We are princes of the road, each and every Eshu, and we are freedom and we laugh at the sidhe's need to own land and wear titles" to "You know what, we're BETTER nobles and got some of us that became Oba, and they have holds and titles too but they never ran so so much better and we honor our nobles because ... suddennly that 'freedom prince of the road stuff means nothing except when we want it to... " and "We invented naming. and .. we used ot chuckle at sidhe, now we HATE them" to the point it almost became whiny

I can see them having their place, nobility doesn't need to be locked into sidhe (esp. in other lands). Granted, I only remember a bit about them
