B is wondering where her dead husband is and her dead parents are. We've tried being nice saying we don't know. We've been told you don'tt just ssay 'so and so is DEAD' but 'how long has it been since you've seen him'? Well.. 12 years. Please stop asking and cornering us

I'm wondering...was it one of the professional caregivers that told you not to say so-and-so is dead? Or was it "helpful advice" from a non-professional?

One of the care givers. Innnternet searches tend to say the same. If you tell a dementia about a dead loved one, they A) End up associating you with negativity and resenting you. B) Decide you must be LYING and or C) Forget and ask again anyway because their mind is locked on it

D) Get very very scared because if it's true then they are losing their minds and/or any mix/match of the above.
