Did I buy it, in large part, due to the pretty cover? Oh yes. I actually very specifically remember it - it was my first time at a Barnes & Noble, which was the biggest bookstore I had ever seen. My dad got it for me, it was a Dad weekend.

My favorite book of hers is still Bardic Voices: Lark and Wren.

That was good; DH seems to be planning to cook on and off all day and I am ok with that.

I liked the first Bardic Voices book, but after that she lost me. The book where the first three chapters are all the same half-hour of action but from three different perspectives? Ugh. The pacing was dreadful.

A lot of her new stuff I don't care for - anything Valdemar after the Storm trilogy, really.
