Honestly I think the South should replace the statues of Confederate soldiers with the statues of Southern Unionists. There's a reason the war was described as turning brother against brother- that was often literal. I forget the exact numbers but apparently as much 1/3rd of the Southerners who fought did so on the Union side depending on state.
