So, when I lived in Indiana (town, not state), I had a MASSIVE blackberry bramble in the yard

like, easily 5, 6 square yards

(15x15?)

Now that I've been able to, I've found a couple wild brambles in our neighborhood.

in the 4 years I lived there, I maybe got 5

It would not be unusual to find a dozen damn deer in my yard, having a feast

and they always beat me to the ripe ones
