Siv is a pretty easy going lass and knows when to try to back up a bit. Her pride isn't the sort that prevents de esculating challenges with most of her lodgemates. She got better after her first year at redirecting her pride more or less

Vali uses humor as a shield but has his own dark side

I think the fact Vali sees what is waiting for the wilders means he gets a long road view that might help

And Adam, not being a total asshole, said no

It could have been a mutual breakup though. More, "I don't think this is working out the way either of us is looking for, maybe we can back off and try being friends"

right

Yeah. By mature standards that was not being an asshole, by teen standards I found it honorable
