So I'm at 🏰 and my students are patrolling a bit and I'm on my own trying to keep an eye on things.

And a family is Facetiming a friend who didn't come with them, giving him grief for working and they point the phone at me and say "Hey, what do you think? Should our friend Scott have come with us??"

I wave back to the camera "Scott, you totally should have come, we're having a great time!"

"This is where the fun is!"

Totally. That’s so Scott

And there was some back and forth between the family and Scott about having fun and coming with them and all and how Scott's no fun. So Scott turns his ball cap backwards and says "Here, how's this, is this fun?" as they put me back on camera.

Still waving, I said "It would be more fun if it were mouse ears."

The family FELL OUT.

LOL You win Mouse House Spirit Award for the day.

And then they wandered on. And I was pleased. I made magic.

1st, Scott met a cast member who just totally jumped into the theme of things.... and 2), Mouse ears.

My mission.... is complete.

The author totally admits it's a homage to the Kings of the Wyld, but it is different enough that the writer of Kings was flattered rather than offended and is good with it

I haven't read Kings of the Wyld. I wonder if you have to read one to appreciate the other.

Loads of profanity, lots of violent action scenes, muy macho... but it also touches on the love fathers can have for their children, how a man recognizes he is better than he was for his wife being in his life, and , of course, bonds of friendship that survive danger and decades. Why, mixed in the blood and F bombs is a bit of syrupy sweet sentimentality, but.. you know, don't tell anyone, that's awkward.

It's basically a 70s rock and roll story with mercs instead of musicians
