Depends on what part of PK. You've got the well-educated cultured NY accents in South Side....you've got a lot of Jamaican influence on Main Street. Beyond that, though, I can't really describe a PK accent. A LOT of wannabe gang-bangers, so you'll get a bunch of folks who sound like Nec on Main St.

Hooker Ave is about halfway between Main and South Side, so....a mix.

Vassar's on the South Side.

Not really sure what a scarsdale accent is, but I'm sure Zara has it

A few of my Pennsic friends are from your neck of the woods, Mr. D, and I find their accents very appealing and not terribly confusing. Most of the time. 🙂

But the "to be" thing is much more common than, say, "yinz" which is what's supposed to be the hallmark of the dialect.

Yeah, I've heard of "yinz" but never heard anybody actually say it for real, other than as a joke.

I have - they tend to be older folk.

And poorer.

Yinz ain't middle class.
