The "Singing in the Rain" number took all day to set up--and Gene Kelly was very ill (some say with a fever over 101). When it was all set up, Kelly insisted on doing a take--even though the blocking was only rudimentary (starting and ending positions only), and co-director Stanley Donen was ready to send him home. He ad-libbed most of it and it only took one take, which is what you see on film.

Might not have hit 103 but I have heard it did 🙂

Her daughter went out to pick up a friend... and B wanted to go with because 'it's dark'... and Housemate assures her is is fine and goes out.

B natters about it while she's gone.

Complaining to her Son in Law.. he assures her it's fine.

Her Daughter and 4th Housemate return home quickly and... B then is surprised and they explain she was in TOWN so not a far trip. B makes it a 'oh well I'm sorry I was stupid" thing...

like.. no one said that, but fine.

They assure her no one is calling her stupid but then B turns it around to ....

"One simple statement... you could have told me she was close"

Good grief...she's obnoxious.

Like... that was a hell of a lead into a manipultive guilt trip attempt.

I hope her daughter isn't buying into it.

I don't think so. I actually said aloud to B "Are you Blaming her for..." But I got the hand signal to shush from her daugther so I did.

Honestly after 10 plus minutes of false martyrdom, the guilt trip attempt almost set me off

I hate being shushed for any reason, so I admire your ability to take that in stride as part of the effort to de-escalate.
