12 yo also totally waived his Miranda rights and so had no lawyer while they interrogated him

Yes, 12 yo hit toddler. Same 12 yo who has known nothing but abuse and violence and spent his lifetime being beaten by his parents

And the mom, when he told her the toddler was hurt, decided to fuk around on the internet for several hours before deciding to go to the hospital

she waited 8 hours with the baby unconscious
