I'm just feeling a year of graveyard shifts. I want to walk in the sun again..... and, there's a possibility I might get to do that. So I'm fussy and want to get on with it but I have to wait till the 17th.

I know how that goes. Not quite the same, but I know how it feeels the closer you get to a chance, the longer it seems to take to cross the distance. Miles away, good pace.. last few feet? You feel at a crawl

Yes. AND... even if I get word a week later that yes, I got the bid, and I'll be working days at wherever... I still have to wait about 3 weeks to actually start that schedule.But at least then I'd KNOW.

I enjoyed it a great deal. Some classic bits touched up, some I did not know about. Some real talent

I know they wrote some new stuff for it, mostly to make more of a story or to emphasize a particular moment IN the story.

One of my favs, as you know, is "I'm all alone."

Mostly because it is usable elsewhere. *G*

Little touches like the tap dance scenes where the others are tapping, and Arthur shakes a foot while coconut bangs made me laugh

See, that's what I like to call "The Mark of Connery."

There's an (apocryphal?) story that during the shooting of "The Untouchables," there was a whole fights scene being choreographed and Connery told the director "I think my character would let these young bucks sort themselves out, just sit over here and read the paper." And the director agreed (probably happy to have a less confusing scene to do) and that's what Connery did.

So after they rehearse and rehearse and rehearse the fight scene, Costner and whoever else is in the fight are winded and blowing and puffing and Costner looks at Connery who's neat and relaxed and reading and says "Hey... why aren't you in this fight scene?"

"This isn't my first barbecue."

Ha. I think this was probably scripted. But I could be wrong.

Things can develop over the rehearsal process so they -become- scripted. In "Hamilton," Jefferson's response to Madison's question "Where have you been?"

"Uh, France? So what did I miss?"

The France thing was a joking throw-in during rehearsal that.... stuck.

I've seen it happen.

Bro and Nephew are camping on property so after work I'm going to see them and then come home and in the arvo DH & Things are going to see them.
