Pennsic is an experience

Honestly, the internet cafe that the camp owners set up gets used for its air conditioning as much as for its computers.

I went for Greebo

And many years ago, I dated a guy at Pennsic who invited me to his camp for dinner...and cooked duck a l'orange for us in his camp's AMAZING kitchen set up.

Oh, Greebo is CUTE.

Mr. D, Greebo is a camp cat who OWNS the place. He sleeps on this one spot on the internet cafe counter, and they've outlined the spot in electrical tape so he has a "box."

Greebo was wonderful. We once got fried chicken from the restaurant and he followed us halfway down Horde Hill. "Chiiiiicccccckkkkeeeennn."

Yeah, poor guy had some organs failing. But he was the best cat. There are other ones about, but none so bold and social.

He owned the place.

I knew a dog in the Netherlands who lived in a restaurant ... when he died, the town had a funeral of sorts.

I kind of want to, like, set up a memorial fundraiser - like, a donation to the local animal rescue in his honor. But that also feels presumptuous?

Ask Greebo's humans if you can do so?

chuckle Oh, man. Cat, I get it. I mean, I'm even more peripheral to the SCA than you are, being part of a mercenary camp at Pennsic. I'd recommend finding out who next year's Pennsic Mayor is, and getting in touch with em to see about some sort of recognition.
