I think, Cat, it's also a bit older by the time you get it takeout than when you just make it in the cooker...so maybe there's something to be said for letting your home-cooked rice sit for half an hour?

Our last day of freedom from the B

Housemate's brother has given a report to her about B's activities and lack there of. Forewarned is forearmed

B had trouble making lunch for herself. Got her pills for herself at wrong time (Like we knew she would). She has alienated her grandkids, one of whom wants nothing to do with her and even the 'sweet one' is picking up on it. B believes her daughter wants her car! And believes if she was drowning no one would save her.

the last one, I mean...

B was with the grandkids alone (oldest boy was actually watching but B was the adult). B calls her daughter in law to say 'oh she's going out with a friend'.. ie j ust leaving the kids there. So both parents scramble to find someone who is an adult to be a sitter because it doesn't occur to B that leaving kids alone entirely might not be a good thing

I'd save her. Ocean castaways often need emergency rations

Some 10 year olds are mature enough to be responsible...but it's on the edge of not okay. I wouldn't want to leave anyone younger than 12 in charge of younger kids without an adult around.

10 year old alone, or with maybe an 8 year old, ok - but not with a toddler.

Yup. ANd they thought B would be okay enough to qualify and help a little. Instead B decided to hit the streets with her crew
