I think the few times they've been to Firnost and she's nibbled, they got the 'hide behind troll when needed' system down. He knows not to call attention to it and acts as a blue wall there.

I've met couples that do similar things. They have a system. I've seen one guy's wife interpose herself between her shy husband and oncoming people and act very warm and nice to them, but she was actually giving him time to compose himself then she would back up with a "Oh how thoughtless of me this is my husband" ..after you see her pull it a few times you realize it's anything but thoughtless. it's a calculated defense. Charming lady. I knew another guy who was very old school about making sure that when it was raining, he was the one on the side of the sidewalk that could get splashed. If surrounded by puddles he'd step into one , lift her by the waist, and give her just enough 'oomph' without being rude to carry her over. // Knew another guy who could fake a monumental headache well just to free his girlfriend from parties so that folks didn't know SHE wanted out of there 10 minutes ago./And I have seen some girlfriends who , well, let's not call them liars, but lt's say they could create an excuse to cover their guys that should have won an Oscar.

I mentioned one House mate was stuck at work so two of them woudl be late... and she goes off about how the Housemate who needed the ride could have gotten one from her but believed her daughter when said daughter said doctors had said she shouldn't drive and NO doctor ever had said that

She tries to charge a tablet, I ask what she's doing and she gets pissy, and I see she's having trouble with the charger. I offer toh elp "You think you can do this better than me?"

Tactfully, I said "I don't know about that, but I can give it a try" and yep. She had fiddled for a half minute. I got it in 5 seonds. She's walking around. I tell her it's charging and she's "I would have gotten it eventually"
