Right? Esp. b/c the dog NEEDS to BE with people. She NEEDS to be around/with/next to us. It's a bottom-level Maslow thing for her, and understandably, I'm fine with that.

But she can't push her nose on the door-way crack to open the door and walk in. She has to see the door-crack open enough and be invited, or the door DOES NOT EXIST and she will fuss about it.

The cat pushes that shit open and walks in. F-you.

Jewel is asking to come up on our bed. It's not happening but.... she WANTS it. She has her own bed next to my side, and she likes it... but she WANTS to bed up with us, warm and in between us. I get it, I do..... DH is not there yet.

Jewel NEEDS more from him, is obviously more sub and recognizes him as Alpha. Valencia is a cat. We had cats, so.....

He can pick Valencia up. Jewel has doubled her weight in two months so... more of a challenge there. BUT his last-thing every night is to sit on the porch while she is out. She explores and does what she needs to and he listens to podcasts but they are out together.

That he does that, when he didn't want a dog.... that he pets her, bathes her, clips her nails, gives her treats.....

He's a good guy.

Jewel is very forward and obvious. She naturally (without training or suggestion) picks up a toy and greets with it. She does not need/want you to take or throw it but... here's my best thing, I'm happy you're here!

My maternal grandfather served in WW2 in the Pacific. Spent some time in Australia, on and off. Army Air Corp. In my lifetime, after, he had a dog he named 'Sheila'....... because she just fell down and showed her tummy when meeting new folks............
