Not going to lie, my leg sometimes gives me grief on stairs, but I'm not fan of most ranches for looks (There are exceptions)

I am fond of pre-war stuff, as a rule.

I have friends who have a beautiful townhouse in Park Slope (Brooklyn)...just delicious. And it does have a little yard in back...there's a whole row of little back yards, each fenced off from its neighbors. It may seem cramped, but it can be a lovely little sanctuary.

Colonials, the exterior, bore me to tears. It's like old time school houses made of brick and I'm not crazy about that, and dull regardless. now the itnerior can be nice but blah

Niiiice. I grew up in a house similar to what I have now. Dutch colonial. Pocket doors, built ins, fireplace. Could be nicer (years of being a rental means cheap-ass updates by landlords) but it's good.

Honestly, victorians for old school charm, Mid Century moderns for standing out neatness

I like Craftsmen that I've seen, and I adored an Old A Frame House, but it was huge

When I was younger, my dad spent a year or two in a mountain village called "Bear Rocks." The house he rented was this HUGE blue A-frame, and the one wall was pretty much all windows. It had a loft, so the main room had, like, a 20+ foot ceiling, all the way up to the apex

I also admit that with the new double paned windows, and with my dubious eye sight, I am all for as much natural sunlight as I can get in a house without killing the AC or heater
