you see canon references to redcaps in motleys, redcaps integrated with society

One short story in the player's guide (I think) had a love sick redcap threaten to eat a dragon's heart and then spit in said dragons' face. Hard not to go 'well, shit' and be impressed. Dragon got so mad it swallowed him, WHOLE.... the redcap lived up his word, eat his way to the dragon's heart and killed him

And later, as he was laid out healing, the lady pooka he was trying to impress with a great deed found out why he had done it, and slapped him where his bandages were not and told him he could have just ASKED and how dare she worry him etc. Happy ending as yes, she would go out with him.

So some redcaps can even be kind of sweet 🙂 why I don't feel bad with Dirk loving Peach. It's probably the only creature in this world that loved him when he didn't deserve it
