Zara is funny - she is fiercely independent and contrary... but she rather likes a take-charge guy in specific circumstances

Earl is a die hard romantic, and sometimes needs his unseelie side to go "She's not a delicate flower that's going to break. SHe's a warm..okay, luke warm, willing woman. ENJOY her"

Zara doesn't like to eat in public. But, well.

Pleasing Earl makes her happy, and she's not quite as skilled at expressing her feelings (at least, she thinks she's not demonstrative enough)

Oh she demonstrates, earl's just learning her way of doing so. For example if he wakes up and she's staring at him intently like she's been watching him in secret for hours, he knows he's loved

And he has wiped much of the rose tint off hsi glasses. and still likes what he sees. But i imagine they'll never be compltely clear of the bias 😉 The heart is a color filter

It is not lost on him that she often grabs his hands either. Sometimes she grabs, some times she brushes him lightly there. As he's an artist, he thinks its very intimate in its' way, that's where part of his gift lies. And she seems to recognize and treasure that. For a boy who was told he wanted to paint so badly why not white wash a fence, that means a lot
