Just had THE MOST frustrating experience

Get home from overnight trip, and one of the kitties ate too fast and grew up the food while gone. Well, it happens. What normally doesn’t happen is the pile of chewed up food is covered with ANTS

so I clean up and search the entire living/dining/ kitchen area.... no ants

oh

And check back in the original spot... MORE ANTS

So I check the door frames and the walls and the AC vents.... no ants

And the spot? More ants!!

Soooo I spray the door frames and the linen closet and the floorboards with instakill spray and wait a bit and check for dead ants

No dead ants

...

But... you’ve guessed it

MORE ANTS IN THAT SPOT

I was going to go completely mad

Ick. I Hate ants.

Then I see.... the teeniest.... tiniest.... smallest knothole in our very well sealed floorboards.... seriously, very solid construction

I spent a few years post parents divorce in a hoarding environment when I was a kid, and there was a bug issue- fleas and animal lice so infested that we’d jump from our beds to get to our clothes rather than walk on the floor

And my husband goes ‘why are you freaking out? It’s just -ants-‘
