I would take care of opossums here. We have gators and rattlesnakes and armadillos. The Armadillos are ok.....

I love that the Algonquin word we adopted as Opossum traveled Down Under and was given to a TOTALLY UNRELATED CREATURE that somewhat resembled the thing they'd only heard described and said "OY! Yeah, that's a POSSUM!!" // "What's that, Ledbeater? Possthing?" // "That's Ledbeatter's Possum, that is!!"

We have a creek nearby, with woods. If I spot her, it's near there.

But it is a POSSUM.

Of all the things that are bigger and scarier and deadlier in Australia...that's not one of 'em.

It's one of the few non-venomous/poisonous bits.
