Not too many, though I HIGHLY recommend them!!! As you might guess from the book cover, mundane world and fantasy world collide.

To be fair I knew about that sweet cover before I read the books. #DoingWizardThangs

Hambly gets a bit formulaic, and I'm not a fan of the series after the first trilogy, but those first three books are winners.

I enjoyed Mists of Avalon. I know a lot of people have a problem with her, but I'm not sure what the problem is.

I need a Pratchett book for Pennsic.

As I understand, her husband was super-creepy in the day, lot of sexual harassment accusations against him

Try to find the first Discworld books. His voice is different in them, early, unsure, uneven. But the background is good to know.

He introduces the Trope of the Eternal coward.

Also, one of the first maybe five of the Discworld books includes the first appearance of the three witches. That is definitely worth reading.

One of the nice things about the Discworld series is that you can read them out of order. Maybe not ideal, but it can be done easily.

I think I'm going to find "Mort" for this Pennsic. I've already read a few of the witches books, though I really should read Wyrd Sisters.

And Mr. D did, indeed, feed the dogs...but not the way he intended, and he was never seen again.

Definitely weird sisters. Again very early voice. The Witches will read slightly different but it is still the introduction. Mort is very short. Chances are very good you will run out of book.

Mort is fun!

Death is my favorite
