Backish. Repacking the trunk of the car for the new role I have at work and.... you know, for work. Going back thereto.

Now that the new bid has started, I'll be day of relief for 3 different areas with Tue & Wed off myself.

10pm to 630 am.

For about another 4 months till the -next- bid.

How does that work for you?

Ok. shrug* Today's going to suck, and this week could be rough, but it's indoors and I will get to at least SEE the family.

But each bid is 6 months and this one started about the time I went on leave for medical so... I have about 4 months or so of this left, and less than that till we see what's available for the -next- bid.

And even experienced coordinators were saying, for this last bid, "Man. There is -nothing- available...." *shrug*

Erk. Well...you'll make it work.

Yep. SO I can repack my trunk to carry what I need, not everything I -might- need.

Girl, I have seen you pack for an entire Pennsic for two people in a Miata. I don't understand how you do it.

Well, it's afternoon in the summer in Florida....

BrekkeP I went to Iraq for 4 months. You can always get extended. You get issued gear for year-round; cold and hot weather. I was going in the summer. I was authorized 7 bags, TWO Of which could be my gear; the rest was equipment. I learned to pack. *G*

chuckle Yeah, when Beren came back from Basic, he looked at all the stuff we moved out of his old apartment and are storing in the garage, and just shook his head. Doesn't know what to do with it all.

Old stuff from a lifetime ago. I've seen guys field-strip an MRE to lose weight from the pack.

Pretty sure that's also called "lunch."

MREs are field-food, yes. But do you NEED the weight of the cardboard box, or just the foil packet inside? Do you NEED the weight of a spoon in each one,or can you reuse the same battle-spoon? How many wee bottles of tabasco are you going to need?
