It's a formula that teenagers find easy to learn. It's representational, rather than requiring the ability to draw what things actually look like.

Honestly not a fan of Anime style, at least not at it's most exreme. I've seen some good ones to be fair

I much prefer realistic, or uniquely stylized. But, beggers/choosers...
