They do know that this crime ranks up with parking ticket, legally right? I mean, it's a misdemeanor IF I recall right. So I'm not being metaphorical, it's basically on the same level as a parking ticket in the eyes of a the law. And... while I am for a stronger border and letting folks who come here legally go before those that do it illegally, there's no way a parking ticket level crime should have the government taking kids from their mothers and fathers.
