Operation Kitten - SUCCESS!

Is that the petsmart cat or from the shelter?

AFK on and off. Surprise surprise, while B is finally home, she dragged her feet so much that the truck set for camping is only now nearly packed

Petsmart.

We visited the shelter, but the kittens ready to come home today just weren't good fits. Most were on the shy side (understandable) and one seemed to have a cold (but who knows) and for the first pet for the active kids, I felt we really needed a strong, good, fast match. Valencia is well mannered but active and curious and was ready to play right away.

She's asleep right now, clocking her beauty rest.

I think it's a good sign she's able to sleep about 10 min after arriving at new home.

Valencia? I like the name

Spanish city IRRC, was liberated in the movie "El Cid", Charlton Heston lobbed bread at it

And yeah, ready to play right away is a good sign for the kids.

*nod* She's still in that carries, which has a basket and mattress in it. Plus a tee shirt from each of the boys, used, for scent.

I think they're a bit disappointed she needed a nap, but they've got the computer so it's going ok. When she wakes, they'll get together.

Good! Today's a clear schedule, the boys are watching TV and playing video games quietly out of respect for the napping baby. I'm in my studio nearby with the West Wing playing. Just... a very chill afternoon. Kids cleaned out the van this morning, dishes and laundry is going along. So we aren't falling behind.
