Delores actually spoke to Coradel about that later, though Coradel hasn't mentioned it to August. "We need to know what he is in the chain of command. A Scribe doesn't have that much power, but he's also your consort...." or words to that effect.

Ok. I was, yes, pushing him into a more authoritarian role, but -he- was not aware of pulling rank. Good.

Well, Delores probably felt a bit insulted twice over. Being accused of being cruel to mortals or relatively so, and her own authorty jumped over by the scribe. Grumble
