This is not only the start of summer break, but the start of summer after HS graduation, AND the start of living among other Fae full-time:
The night was warm, the windows were down and a breeze was blowing through her hair. The boys up in the front seat had the music cranked and she was heady with a feeling of life, of energy, of excitement. She'd had to manage and control her connection to other Fae, to the Dreaming, in order to maintain the illusion for her parents. Now, her parents were Fae, and she was out of the house, independent, and in the company of others like herself. It was exhilarating, intoxicating!
