Y'know...it's weird. When we were out of school because of the shooting threat, I sent all my students a checking-in-on-you email to let them know I was thinking about them. I figured they'd get swamped by such emails. Apparently, I'm the only one who sent one.

Actually what tickles me when a generation thinks they've invented something, and you have to say "no, I'm sorry, what your'e doing is the Madison and it's a very old dance move"

Well...I wasn't trying to get points for it. It's just...apparently I'm rather different than the other teachers in my school.

That's possibly a good thing. And at least gives them some variety

shrug So, I'll keep using old slang, threatening to defenestrate them, and sending odd letters home. That'll be my particular idiom. 🙂
