This one has software issues and they wanted me to wipe and completely reinstall the OS. Maybe it's just me, but I'm not thrilled at the prospect of spending a few hours reinstalling operating software on a machine that doesn't work 2 days out of the box.

I'm just glad I discovered the issues with this one before spending a good 4-6 hours setting up all of the software and config for the tech who is getting the machine (as I did with the other one we had to send back with hardware malfunctions)

One of these days I'm gonna go find the Nocker working the QC line at Dell and give him a piece of my mind

Oh I did! And lucky me, the hardware issue with the other one was that it wouldn't charge (despite showing that it was charging)

So no indication that there was an issue until it suddenly dies

Okay! I apparently am smarter than Dell ProSupport because after they gave up, I ran some basic troubleshooting and fixed the issue myself. And then one of th OTHER machines had an issue.

Long story short, an hour later and I'm finally in possession of 4/5 functional laptops. Bless it all. Only been at it today since 7am. Do I get to go home now?

Halfway tempted to take a laptop to the couch and just game all night. Although that wouldn't get me fed. And eventually I'd probably have to go home...

It's almost funny - we use flextime here, so if someone works late one day, they can take those hours off another day. All well and good in theory, but then the 'other days' all end up just as busy...

Well. Off I go! Working from home tomorrow and Friday, so if it does manage to be slow, I may be able to get some midday play in on the side while working on catchup things 🙂
